What are your hours of operation?
We are open Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. You can also reach us at 303-892-6233 or info@1080learningcenter.com.
How does the Playground app work?
Playground is our parent communication app. Once enrolled, you’ll receive a login. Through the app you can see daily reports, photos, feeding and nap logs, and communicate with your child’s classroom. Download Playground from the App Store or Google Play once you’re enrolled.
What is your drop-off and pick-up procedure?
We encourage families to come into the center each day during drop-off and pick-up. This gives parents the opportunity to bring in their child’s belongings, connect with teachers, receive updates about their child’s day, and build strong relationships with our staff. For safety and security, all authorized pick-up individuals must be listed in the Playground app. Any newly authorized pick-up person will be required to present a valid photo ID before a child is released.
Are you licensed by the State of Colorado?
Yes. 1080 Learning Center is fully licensed and accredited by the State of Colorado through the Colorado Department of Early Childhood (CDEC). Our licensing documentation is available upon request and posted on-site as required by state regulations.
How do UPK, DPP, and CCAP work?
Universal Preschool Colorado (UPK) provides all Colorado 4-year-olds with up to 15 hours per week of tuition-free preschool in their year before kindergarten, no income requirement. Families may qualify for additional free hours depending on their situation. The Denver Preschool Program (DPP) provides additional tuition credits for every Denver family with a 4-year-old, regardless of income, plus limited, need-based credits for some 3-year-olds through its Preschool for 3s program. The Colorado Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) offers financial assistance for eligible families based on income and household size. All three programs work together and can be combined. We are an approved provider for all three, register or apply directly through each program using the links below.
How much does daycare and preschool cost in Denver?
Child care in Denver is a real expense. Infant daycare tends to cost the most, with tuition easing as children grow into our preschool and Pre-K rooms. We share our current rates by classroom level the moment you send an inquiry. For families with a 4-year-old, Universal Preschool Colorado (UPK) and the Denver Preschool Program (DPP) can bring Pre-K tuition down to very little, and sometimes to nothing at all.
Is preschool really free in Denver? (UPK, DPP & CCAP)
For 4-year-olds, much of it can be. Every Colorado 4-year-old qualifies for up to 15 hours per week of tuition-free preschool through UPK in the year before kindergarten, with no income requirement. Denver families can add tuition credits through the Denver Preschool Program (DPP), and eligible families can receive support through the Colorado Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP). The programs stack together. We are an approved provider for all three, and our coordinator can walk you through eligibility.
What age can my child start, and when should we get on the waitlist?
We welcome children from 6 weeks old through Pre-K. Because infant and toddler spots in Denver fill quickly, we recommend sending an inquiry as early as you can, even several months ahead, so we can talk through current openings and, if needed, our waitlist.
What is the difference between daycare and preschool?
They overlap more than people expect. Daycare usually describes full-day care for younger children, while preschool describes the structured, kindergarten-readiness learning older children do. At 1080 you get both: full-day care with a play-based, whole-child curriculum at every age, from our infant rooms through Pre-K.
Is my child ready for preschool? Do they need to be potty trained?
Most children are ready for a preschool setting between ages 2.5 and 4, and readiness looks a little different for everyone. Our Junior Preschool classroom is built for exactly this transition. Children do not need to be fully potty trained to start, our teachers partner with families on toilet learning as part of the day.
What is your sick child policy?
To help keep our school community healthy, we ask that children who are ill stay home until they are feeling better. If a child becomes sick during the day, we will contact a parent or guardian to arrange for pick-up. Children who are sent home due to illness must remain out of care until they have been symptom-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing or symptom-masking medication. Please see the Parent Handbook for detailed information regarding our illness policy.
